Scheduling and time suggestions

How to schedule, what the time suggestion is based on, and what happens when a scheduled time passes.

Short answer

Scheduling means giving an approved piece a date and a time, after which Pagioo sends it to the configured channel by itself. On the Growth and Scale plans the system also suggests a time, based on channel and industry comparison data, so you do not have to guess when to publish. The upper bound on scheduling is your plan's planning window.

How to schedule

  1. Approve the content

Where an approval flow exists, scheduling only leads to publishing after approval.

  2. Choose the target channel

Website, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn — from your connected channels. One piece can go to several, with channel-specific text.

  3. Give a date and time

Within the planning window. On Growth and Scale the time suggestion appears here too.

  4. Check the connection's state

With an expired authorisation the schedule is created but the publish will fail. The Integrations page shows the state of each connection.

The time suggestion

The suggestion is based on channel and industry comparison data: when attention tends to be highest on your type of channel and in your segment. Two important limits:

  • Comparison data, not a measurement of your own audience — your followers' habits may differ. If you have your own experience of what works, that takes precedence.
  • Available on Growth and Scale. On smaller plans you set the time yourself.

When a scheduled time passes

  • The system sends it at the next due check — a delay of a few minutes is normal, not a fault.
  • If publishing returned an error, the piece goes to failed state and the Publishing page shows why.
  • The content is not lost: the draft and the text remain, only the delivery did not happen.

Which time zone does it schedule in?

The one shown in the calendar header. If the hour of appearance matters, it is worth checking once — especially if you work in a different time zone from your audience.

Can I schedule retroactively?

No. If a piece needs an earlier date on the website, set that in the target system after publishing.

What if I schedule several posts to the same minute?

They go out, but several posts arriving one after another on one channel hurts reach. It is worth leaving at least a few hours between them.
